The app accesses only the photos you explicitly select from your photo library (chat screenshots). No other data is collected from your device.
Selected screenshots are sent to the OpenAI API for text recognition and message extraction. This processing happens on OpenAI's servers. Please refer to OpenAI's privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
Extracted messages are stored locally on your device as JSON files. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.
You can export your chats as PDF, CSV, or TXT files. Exported files are created locally and shared only through actions you initiate.
You can delete any chat from the app at any time. Deleting a chat permanently removes its data from your device.
The iOS app and Mac app do not include any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking of any kind. All message processing happens on your device.
The website at msgkeep.com uses Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic (page views, referrer, country, device type, button clicks). This is separate from the apps.
Google Analytics is loaded in Consent Mode: until you click Accept on the cookie banner, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and only anonymous, aggregated pings are sent. If you accept, cookies _ga and _ga_* store a randomly generated client ID; no email, name, or personal information is collected by the website tracker.
To withdraw consent at any time, click Cookie settings in the footer, or clear your browser cookies for msgkeep.com. See Google's privacy policy for how Google processes this data.
The app does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no user profile or personal information stored.
